Mike King considers the connection between spirituality and Nature

Ben Pink Dandelion, programme leader for the Centre for Postgraduate Quaker Studies at Woodbrooke and the 2014 Swarthmore lecturer, gave a talk at our Meeting recently. I stood up to make a comment, introducing myself as both a Quaker and an animist. I had greatly enjoyed his presentation and I told him, as a Quaker and as an animist, that I wanted to make an additional observation. I had sensed that an energetic thread ran through him back to the foundations of Quakerism, possibly because of time spent in important historical locations for our religion – our ‘sacred sites’ as it were.
