As a passionate ‘Remainer’, my first response to the Brexit vote in June 2016 was hurt and anger. I felt my country had been stolen from me. Since it was ‘the will of the people’ to leave the EU, I was evidently no longer one of ‘the people’. The arguments that had persuaded a small majority to vote ‘Leave’ were so sketchy that I feel they amounted to deception.
