Quakers in Cumbria are highlighting concerns about aspects of educational policy in England. Members of West Cumbria Area Meeting recently wrote a letter to publicise their concerns and circulated it to Friends in the region. Sudbury re-opens after renovation

The historic Meeting house at Sudbury in Suffolk has re-opened after a long-delayed renovation. The Grade-II listed building was officially opened again on Saturday 15 June by Adrian Osborne, mayor of Sudbury, and Betty Scrivener, clerk of the Meeting. It now has an eye-catching new porch.

The new multi-purpose meeting room at the Glenthorne Quaker Centre in the Lake District has been completed. The design uses a ‘visual grammar’ of white walls, Lakeland slate roofs and green bargeboards of the main house to create a simple, attractive, structure that fits harmoniously into its rural setting.

The Quaker Tapestry Museum in Kendal Meeting house has re-opened its doors to the public and been given a new look. The museum was closed for five months for refurbishment after major damp problems were discovered in the building.
